The Global Houston Model United Nations (GHMUN)
GHMUN is the second-largest Model UN conference in the Houston area. Designed for high school and junior high students, GHMUN focuses on promoting global diplomacy, enhancing research skills, and developing critical leadership abilities.
2026 Committees
In 2026, the GHMUN conference will feature involvement from both High School and Junior High School committees. Student delegates will receive country and committee assignments based on their registration date for the conference. Schools will also receive a variety of country and committee assignments for delegates instead of a single country delegation.
Awards Rubrics
At the Global Houston Model UN, excellence is celebrated through three prestigious awards per committee:
- Best Delegate
- Outstanding Delegate
- Best Position Paper
These awards recognize exceptional performance and impactful contributions. Ranging from persuasive diplomacy engagement to well-researched and articulated position papers.

Scholarships
We are proud to announce that GHMUN provides scholarships to those who win the awards Best Delegate, Outstanding Delegate and Best Position Paper*
Scholarships will be distributed via check at the end of the conference.
